Case Study of Palm Beach Apartment
The Palm Beach Apartment received a much-needed update while maintaining the luxurious personality of the space. With neutral tones in a bright and light palette, the new design was inspired by the Floridian climate.
The central foyer of the apartment was updated with major architectural changes, including breaking through to the room behind, adding pocket doors, and defining the entryway with a prominent light cove.
The foyer features a stunning polished chrome Onda desk and table from Nella Vetrina – a sculptural moment to set the tone throughout of minimal, yet impactful design. The frescoed walls are complemented with four 1960s frosted gold glass sconces discovered at John Salibello and a vintage Gio Ponti light fixture overhead that gives the space a sense of importance.
The living room is anchored with similarly sculptural furnishings that include a custom sofa, nesting Jiun Ho coffee tables and Holly Hunt armless chairs sitting atop a hand-tufted carpet that, paired with the woven silk wallcovering, add softness and texture to the room.
The original family room with its dated built-in millwork shelving was re-envisioned with modern wood paneling for warmth and striking custom polished chrome picture lighting to articulate the art. The play of beige and brown tones carry throughout the space, from the walnut cocktail table to the tufted sofa and cowhide accents. It becomes an ideal room to gather.
