Salone del Mobile 2022 Highlights
Salone del Mobile has grown into a must-see design fair since its conception in 1961. Held annually in Milan, Italy, the 210,000 square meter show is an inspiration for those passionate about all things design. We’ve comprised our top highlights and trends from this year’s event.
Vibrant Colors
Vibrant colors brought to life cabinets, kitchen islands, and appliances at Salone. USM collaborated with Monocle Magazine to feature the special pink collection in the Rossignoli Bicycle Store in Corso Garibaldi in Brera.
Palazzo Visconti di Modrone featured the Ultrafragola mirror and lamp. Designed by Ettore Sottsass for Poltronova, the design mimics long, wavy hair.
Fluted Wood
Fratelli Boffi created a workspace, two bars, and a closet with fluted wood panels. When all doors and drawers are closed, the fluted lines become a seamless surface.
italian classicism
Milan, a city of substantial history, integrates its deep roots with modern design. Designers like Fornasetti and Tom Dixon embrace the challenge to blend two worlds into a timeless but fresh aesthetic.
