2024 Design: A Year in Review
As we turn the page to 2025, we are taking a moment to reflect on what we have seen and learned from our clients over the past year. With a notable shift in the way people are choosing to live, we are sharing with you the themes around client demands that we believe are here to stay.
Simplified Home Systems
The days of over-complicated tech are gone for many. While some technophiles love to curate spaces with the latest gadgets, many of our clients request pared-down solutions for daily living. Simple controls for lighting, shades, sound, and temperature offer intuitive, user-friendly experiences that are less likely to break or become obsolete in the everchanging world of technology.
Self-Contained Living
Since the pandemic, our clients have been increasingly requesting amenities such as fitness studios, home spas, and indoor pools. This signals a change in how people view the home and indicates a collective desire for convenience and privacy.
Practical Luxury
There’s a notable shift towards practicality. Luxury is being redefined to prioritize ease of living. This is reflected in preferences for durable materials such as stone and solid wood. Taj Mahal quartzite has become a favorite among clients for its understated beauty and practicality in high-traffic areas. The leather finish, with its tactile quality and soft hand-feel, is widely appreciated.
Bold Design Statements
Our clients are not holding back when it comes to their home interiors. Increasingly, the request is for a unique, beautiful interior that reflects their personality and lifestyle. Above all, our clients want a bespoke, tailored home. Clients are more sophisticated and more educated around design and so the challenge for us is to continue to introduce exciting new or custom product and design that is unique and exciting. We love seeing clients loving big statements and taking bold risks.
